Q. What is the Difference Between
Moles and Voles?
Answer:
- Voles are rodents
- Moles are insectivores
- Voles eat plant material. Think V - Vegetation
- Moles eat insects/bugs underground. Think M - Meat
- Moles dig the tunnels through our lawn to get to grubs and earthworms.
- Voles use the moles' tunnels to travel underground to plants and then chew the base and roots of the plant.
Keep mulch pulled back from the base of plants to avoid giving voles a place to hide while they munch away.
